For Family Home Evening (FHE) the week before Thanksgiving, we made grateful turkeys (thanks for the idea, Natalie S.). I thought they turned out really cute. It was nice for everyone to think of things for which they are grateful.

We had a great Thanksgiving with my brother and sister and their families. We missed my parents this year, but we are looking forward to seeing them soon. The weather was great. We all ran a 5K (well, everyone but Derek - he watched all of the kids). It was really fun. The kids always have a good time with their cousins. The only problem was that several of the kids were sick. Jared ran a fever off and on for much of the time we were there. Jenna got sick after we got back. I have been fighting a cold for about 3 weeks now. That seems to be standard practice for this time of year.
Derek lay down with Jared a bit because Jared wasn't feeling well. He spent a good amount of time sleeping when we first got there.

The finished product. We actually had the kids make most of these, but we miscounted, so Rachel made another one.

Amanda, about to sit down to a delicious meal (seriously, it was so good)
Jenna and Janie waiting to eat
Jared, my monkey, waiting for someone to get him food
Amanda and Derek (proof that we were both there)
My mom sent "light sabers" for all of the kids to play with during Thanksgiving. These were a hit. She also sent these little snowman lanterns. I have to say the kids really like anything that lights up.

Thanks brother for hosting us. We had a great time!
